Cole Therapy Center introduces our new professionally designed Sensory Room!  The room is designed specifically for those individuals who are affected by Sensory Integration Dysfunctions, providing them with a calming environment in which they can more effectively learn and play.  The room, including all doors and ceiling, is designed to give the child a peaceful and relaxing setting, oftentimes reducing agitated behavior.  All florescent lighting has been replaced by softer, indirect lights and the walls have been reinforced to become soundproof, both of which allow child to focus more independently.  The room is equipped with a Pony Bolster swing, Platform swing, Cocoon/Cuddle swing, Blanket swing, Tire swing and a trampoline atop a crash pad, all used for a variety of progressive therapeutic activities.  Each one of these great tools is used to enhance and develop your child’s sensory integration skills.   

This room is purposely designed to stimulate and challenge each of your child’s five senses.  During a session in the Sensory room, your child’s therapist will work alongside them to encourage movement and provide them with a level of sensory stimulation that they can comfortably cope with while at the same time challenging them to reach their full potential.  The therapist will also work with your child using various floor and table-top activities to simulate classroom activities.   

Whether your child is Hyposensitive (lower sensitivity) or Hypersensitive (heightened sensitivity), Cole Therapy Center has the therapists and equipment to get them to that next level!
